Annie Lennox

Annie Lennox born December 25, 1954, Aberdeen Scotland. Dorothy Farquharson & Thomas Allison Lennox is the name used by her parents. Lennox won a scholarship award to attend London's Royal Academy of Music for 3 years. She was able to survive on a student salary and part-time work in order to make ends meet. Lennox decided to change her career path when she was dissatisfied with her inexperience in contrast to other Royal Academy students. Lennox began her career as an instrument player within the band Dragons Playground. The group did not get to compete in the talent competition New Faces on I.T.V. Between 1977 and the year 1980 she was the vocalist in The Tourists. A British pop group. There she made friends with Dave Stewart who would later form Eurythmics. Lennox was later able to record her debut solo album Diva. The album was released in 1992. It became a huge success both commercially and critically. Nostalgia Lennoxs sixth album by herself was released in October 2014. The C.D. Lennox has picked her most favored jazz, blues and soul tunes. Lepidoptera is a collection of four tracks that she improvised for piano that Lennox released in May, 2019. The E.P. is the companion album for her installation of art at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art entitled"Now, I'll let You go... The album is also her debut independently-released album.
